Winston showed up on our doorstep on February 7th. He had a very long rope tied tightly around his neck, was badly emaciated and had untreated wounds on his body.
One of our volunteers spotted Winston while out on a walk. Our staff assumed that someone had tied him to our building to surrender him, but he wasn’t tied to anything at all!
We were unsure as to how he actually ended up at MARL, but we were certainly glad that he did. Upon intake, our staff and volunteers gave Winston plenty of TLC to help him feel at ease.
Over time, Winston began to gain weight and build his confidence. He weighed 44 pounds when he first arrived at MARL. Today, Winston weighs nearly 60 pounds!
Not only is Winston healthy, but he is also incredibly happy despite all he has been through. Winston loves to cuddle, go for walks and run around the yard. We can tell that he is relieved to finally be able to relax and enjoy being a dog!
No matter what Winston is up to, he always has a smile on his face!
Although Winston is loving life at MARL, his dream is to find a place to call home. Winston had a rough start to his story… now, he’s ready for his happy ending!
